Making and Writing Words Template

Make word study active and meaningful.

Help students build a stronger understanding of how words work through guided practice with building, sorting, and writing words. These reusable templates from Tim Rasinski give students opportunities to manipulate letters, examine patterns, and make connections between words.

To use the activity, provide students with a focused set of letters and guide them in using those letters to build words of different lengths. Have students sort and record the words they create, discussing the sounds, spelling patterns, and word relationships they notice.
